Guess and HangTiki are IRC chat bots that runs a plethora of chat games, 3 so far. To play their games, one must understand the subtle nuances necessary to interact with these Tiki machines. Notably, what games there are and what commands one must speak to play said games, hence the raison d'être of this fine web page.

If you don't do this, they may assume you are talking to some one else, or just a blithering village idiot talking to yourself in a schizophrenic rant. Which is OK. Really. When one is in an Internet chat room, one expects this sort of behavior.

HangTiki runs his own game, called, of all things, HangTiki

8 Ball

Fans of the Magic 8 Ball will certainly be appalled that the Tikigawd had frankensteined this beloved childhood toy into a twisted heap of tiki madness. Like the magic 8 Ball, you ask it a question, and the 8 Ball will respond to your question with a psychic understanding of your problems.

To ask the 8 Ball a question, simply prepend any question with the word "8Ball". Please note 8Ball does not have a space between the digit 8 and the word ball.

For example, one might ask: 8Ball, why won't Nostrodomos shut up?

Guess

Guess is a far more sophisticated game. The object of the game is to guess a random number, picked by the bot cleverly named Guess. You have a certain number of guesses to accomplish the lofty goal of, um, guessing the random number. How many guesses there are, and the range the random number would be in is communicated by the bot when you start the game.

To start the game called Guess, say any of the following phrases into the chat room:
  • Guess Go
  • Guess On
  • Guess Start
Although it may not be obvious, this game can be rather competitive. The person who starts the game does not have exclusive privilege to guess the number. Any one can guess! The person who guesses the random number, regardless of whether that person made 5 guesses or just 1 guess, will score the win. Cool, huh?

To guess a number, say:
  • Guess <number>
This game is scored similarly to the TriviaBot, with Monthly scores, All Time scores, including Monthly and All Time rankings. The bot will announce your score and rank when you enter the channel, and everytime you score.

If you'd like to "hear" your statistics anytime, just say:
  • Guess Score
  • Guess Rank
You can also view the Top 10 scorers, by saying:
  • Guess Top10 Monthly
  • Guess Top10 Weekly
Additionally, if you are a channel operator, you can deactivate the game by simply saying Guess Off. But why would you do such a thing?

HangTiki

HangTiki is based on the game "HangMan". In fact, the rules are identical. Inside the chat room, however, you don't get to see the body forming underneath the gallows. That would be too techincally challenging. Noetheless, we have HangTiki.

To start the game, say in the channel: HangTiki Go ("HangTiki" is one word)

To guess a letter, say the letter. There is no need to say "HangTiki" first. In fact, if you do, the GaMeBot will ignore you. Once a letter is guessed, the Bot will respond whether the letter was correct, or incorrect. An incorrect letter draws part of hangtiki underneath the gallows, um, in your imagination. In other words, if you guess wrong, your number of guesses are reduced by one. "Decremented" would be the appropriate word of the day. However, a correct guess does not decrement the guesses.

Other useful commands:
  • HangTiki Word - Lists the word and the correctly guessed letters
  • HangTiki Letters - Lists the letter already guessed
